Engineer - Manufacturing

  • Coordinate, direct, and lead all LSR manufacturing engineering efforts to ensure optimum engineering of projects/programs to meet customer and manufacturing requirements
  • Facilitate communication between engineering functions, outside vendors, and manufacturing.
  • Provide manufacturing engineering leadership for initial LSR set up operations and processes
  • Continuously improve existing processes using design of experiments, SPC, and other methods to increase efficiencies (e.g. minimize changeover and setup time)
  • Lead development activities and provide technical guidance.
  • Create and monitor LSR project timelines and implementation to include facility equipment acquisition and training of resources
  • Participate/Lead training initiatives as new people come onto the LSR team
  • Implement technical solutions to meet customer and Phillips-Medisize cost, quality, and delivery expectations
  • Provide technical support/solutions to manufacturing processes, manage to establish yield and throughput, and drive for cost reduction and optimal quality
  • Coordinate, direct and lead engineering efforts to ensure optimum engineering of projects/programs to meet customer and manufacturing requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications - Education & Experience

  • B.S. degree in engineering field with 7-10 years of related experience
  • 11-15 years of directly related experience and education, with no bachelors degree

Qualifications - Skills & Competencies

  • Strong and diverse technical injection molding, tooling, materials, manufacturing, quality, cost estimating, processing and product design skills
  • Knowledge of LSR materials and process, multi-shot processing technology, cost estimating, and equipment acquisition
  • Ability to use CAD to determine if tooling, equipment and part designs meet requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects
  • Demonstrated superior communication, teamwork and organizational skills
  • Ability to accurately quote design, tools/equipment, and parts
  • Ability to develop and meet project schedules, along with contingency plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and meet financial goals
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and develop future account needs
  • Demonstrated ability to think out of the box and recommend options
  • Ability to lead others.  Responsibility may include direct supervision of technicians and mentoring/leading engineers
  • Demonstrated broad understanding of capabilities and technologies of other PPC facilities, suppliers, industry, and customers
  • Travel up to 20% to 30%
